You look in my eyes
and see the pain I have had
to endure,
The sadness I have had
to hide.
The help that I desperatly
needed and wanted
but was too scared to seek out
was never received.
This broken heart
is hard to heal
even when I try to feel like
I am unbroken.
I tried to keep
my broken heart
from your utterly perfect one.
But, to no anvil have I accomplished it.
